Pandai Emas POS
Built a Square-style point-of-sale for gold retail, solo, end to end. The premium POS features, without the premium price.
The problem
Small gold retailers run on paper and trust. The good point-of-sale systems built for them are either too expensive or too generic to handle how gold actually trades, by weight, by purity, at a price that moves all day. The crux was building Square-grade POS for a niche that Square never served, and doing it cheaply enough that a single shop could afford it.
I built Pandai Emas solo, end to end: design, frontend, backend, the lot.
Decisions
Match the premium feature set, drop the premium price
The bar was not "a cheaper POS." It was Square's premium features, inventory, transactions, reporting, the parts retailers actually pay up for, priced for a small gold shop. Building it myself with modern tooling is what made that economically possible.
Model the domain, not a generic catalog
Gold is not a SKU with a fixed price. The product has to reason about weight, purity, and a spot price that changes, at the moment of sale. Getting that data model right is the difference between a POS a jeweller trusts and one they route around.
Ship it solo to prove the AI-era leverage point
One person can now build and ship a product that used to need a team. Pandai Emas is the proof: I designed it, built it, and put it live myself. That is the same muscle I bring to leading product, prototype the real thing before anyone writes a spec.
